open up your mind and see like me, open up your plans and damn, you're free.cooper; the past ain't through with you He loved this place. He found it so...calming. There was something about this particular spot, which helped him to just think, which was what he did best. A burning yellow sun was sinking deep in the sky, sending the last of it's warm rays on the quiant little city. Long shadows stretched from each house, making it look quite fairytale like. He stared at the ripples, gently rebounding off the canal side.
He thought about his situation in life. He'd run away from home, and had been on the run for quite a while now. He missed having a family to care about, and who care about him back. He missed being a part of something special, something where it was one for all, and all for one. He missed having a pack, but he wasn't sure he could ever be a part of one again, the memories of his past were still scorched him when he thought about it, and he knew that he would never be able to replace what he once had. How time flies, it didn't seem that long ago since he was merely a month old, rolling around in lush fields of green with his brothers and sister. I suddenly breathed in jerkily, and realised he had been holding his breath. Tears glittered in his eyes, and he began to shiver, finding it hard to take breaths. Happy days seemed so far away.
His mahogany gaze swept to where his reflection lay in the water, blurry through the tears. He forced his mind away from the dangers of his past, and concentrated on the present. He took a few deep breaths in, and blinked away the watery droplets from the corners of his eyes. The hit the water with a small splash, distorting his reflection. Sighing, he opened his eyes again, biting his lip so hard it felt like it was going to bleed. The past is irrelevant, right now is what matters. He shouldn't forget his friends. He wouldn't forget his family. He couldn't forget her. Childish puppy love it may of been, but love all the same. He wasn't going to give up on life, he was going to enjoy it until the day he rejoined everyone who plauged his memories.
goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend.

She, too loved this place; for Aphrodite was a swimmer. Worn, cobble-stone steps led down to the canal, and she followed them carefully, stepping on at a time. She was careful not to slip, but stumbled more than once. When she'd reached the last step, the young female eagerly dipped a paw in the cool, still water. Ahh...it was so fresh. Relief from the hot day was important; the sun could bring all sorts of illnesses, shuddered the sweet young female. The fur on her paw, as white as virgin snow, was wet now. But for some reason, the female didn't jump in, as she was going to; she heard the quite noise of breathing, and looked up; further down the canal, was a pup, same as her. Except his fur; it was beautiful! Dee had never seen such a thing; black and white, no wolf she'd ever seen had a pelt that colour. Eager to male friends, Aphrodite made her way slowly up the worn steps, until she stood again on the hot tarmac of the street. The dog was further down; he seemed to be crying. Shocked into stillness, Dee turned her head to the side, as if she was half thinking of walking away; what if he was hostile? Well, few pups were. If he was as young as he looked, then perhaps he'd prove to be amiable. But Dee couldn't just walking right up to - aha! The crafty young female grinned, and padded to the other side of the road. After she'd plucked what she needed from the earth, Dee padded softly up to the sad-looking pup. Before his paws, the female dropped a single, deep purple tulip. Smiling softly, she spoke, though shy. 'Hey there. I'm Aphrodite.'

Cooper's ears twitched, and he had half an eye to turn around and see who was behind him, but he couldn't tear his eyes away from the water. He decided if they wanted something they would come over and talk to him, but for now he was comfortable with the silence. The last of his tears dribbled down his fluffy cheeks, before he forced himself to stop. That was all he would give his sadness, he would no longer feed it his tears. He would starve it, and even if it hurt more than he had ever hurt before, he would overcome his past.
His thoughts were interrupted with something extremely odd. A tulip, dark purple and beautiful. He blinked once. Twice. With his brow creased in confusion, he looked up to see who had dropped a flower at this feet. He saw a beautiful she-wolf, with a shocking coat of ivory and golden eyes, probably a few months older than him. "Um..." He frowned, slightly confused. "I'm Cooper." He didn't really want company right now, but perhaps it would distract him from sad thoughts. "Can I help you?"
