'Under the truth of the sun...my lies, my fears, melt away...'
It
haunted not only his dreams, but his waking moments, too. As the golden-furred male loped over the meadow toward Vienta Castle, he felt his heart grow warmer. Here was his home; his family. He'd joined the Savage River pack...well, he'd been here a few weeks. Perhaps even a month now - and he loved it here. Angrboda, the fearsome leader, was respected very much by him; her lead guard, Cwen, he was slightly nervous around, but still liked her alot. He hadn't interacted much with other members of the pack, and perhaps, that was why he was here. Vienta Castle was the pack den site. It was old, beautiful, and had that distinct human smell. Not that Ko had ever scented a real human; they'd died out long before he had been born. But he could tell, because nothing in the wild smelled that way.
Looking up, the harsh glare of the sun nearly blinded him. Light glinted from the polished surface of the castle - and the wolf was reminded of just how huge it really was.
Turrets jutted out from nearly every edge, and Ko wondered if the pack had explored all of the rooms. Probably not, since there seemed to be hundreds. His shaggy coat shining in the bright sun, the male pulled to a stop infront of the castle gates, which were partly open. Squeezing in the gap (those doors were heavy), Ko padded across the courtyard that he'd gotten to know so well, and up to the main building. Inside, a huge, curving iron staircase spiralled to the top, and many corridors led off. Ko sighed, and trudged the long way up to the top. A stone corridor, bright with filtered sunlight from a hole in the wall, led to a single room with a wooden door. Looking out of the hole, Ko noticed how very, very high up he was. Heights, he could deal with.
Temptation, he could not, which was why he had to nose open the door, which was heavy, and dusty. Inside, a small, circular room greeted him. In which, thousands of flowers hads burst from the cracks in the stone floor; it was beautiful. One of the most amazing things Ko'd seen in a long time. Purple, red, white, yellow, blue - plants of all colours graced the room, some creeping up the walls. There was a window at the end of the room - fresh air blew through it, ruffling Ko's collar. And has he padded carefully over the flowers, his mouth open slightly in suprise, eyes wide, he looked out, to see the most magnificent sight in the whole world, in his opinion. It seemed he could see the universe. There was Haden Valley land; denali lake, and positano ruins. But it stretched on further than that. For miles, and miles, and miles, never stopping. Ko was entranced.
He wished he had someone to share his delight at finding this - this portal, almost, to another world. Well, when you were a wolf, used to being on the ground, how could you not think that this sight was magical? [/sub]
