Come and rescue me; I'm burning, can't you see?
It was so, so hot. The beautifully azure day had bled into a husky, red-skied late afternoon. Most of the creatures were bounding happily around her; she could smell the happiness radiating off of them. Lifting her head, the white wolf looked lost for a moment, as she stared out at this ... unforgettable landscape. Stunning. Aphrodite closed her eyes, and let the slight breeze ruffle the fur around her neck and cheeks; it blew around her maw like a crown. The wolf was small; petite, delicate, and somehow, not without that child-like innocence. She was, by anyone's standards, quite attractive; though she never minded about what appearance she held, that aspect had worked out in her favour. Grinning to herself, she started to pad down the hill. The trees at the sides were gnarled and twisted; she thought of her brother. And shuddered. No, she snarled to herself. No thinking about the past. Bad. Wrong. No. As she started to lope through the trees, Aphrodite felt alive. She could feel the earth changing beneath her paws...and sure enough, the terrain had changed within seconds. Instead of the bark and pine needles from a moment ago, she was standing ina field, filled with long, summer grass and fat yellow flowers. A gentle smile lit up her features; Aphrodite made her way to the middle of the field. Humming quitely to herself, the female lowered her head, and rested it on her front paws. So tired... Dreams of brothers, old grudges and fat, yellow flowers followed.

there is no place like home, when you got no place to go.g l o r i a ;this is why we're falling apart It was such a nice day, just like yesterday, except today felt that bit more brighter. It was probably because Gloria was in a better mood, today she felt a little more at home. Yesterday she had just been wandering, like she had been for a while now. It was just another day, exactly the same as all the days that had come before it. Now, though, she'd found lands in which she wanted to dwell for a while, although it was just a fact that she moved on eventually. It was just what she did. She preferred it that way, too; just wandering. Free. Independant. Happy.
Trotting through the lands, Gloria came upon the coast. The waves crashed against the jagged rocks, sun beating down on the warm earth. Smiling slightly, the femme took in a breath of sea air, gazing around with dark orbs. There was no-one here, yet it was so peaceful. She raised her maw to the blood-red sky, and tried to find out if their were any wolves nearby. It so happened that when she wanted company, there was none around. Or was there? Yes, about a mile or two away. Gloria smiled, and bolted away without so much as a second thought for the beautiful scenery. Company was what she lacked, and company was what she would find. Skidding through the countryside at almost breakneck speed, it wasn't long before Gloria found a quaint clearing before her eyes. A small smudge of white lay in the middle of the meadow, a lot smaller and slimmer than herself, but of the same breed. It was funny how much similiar wolves could differ. Normally, Gloria would of approached with caution, but she was in such a good mood, and the lazy summer day was so wonderful that she just bounded on over to the sleeping she-wolf. Tilting her head, and not wanting to rudely wake her, she decided she would just give her a surprise when she woke up. Muahahaha.

Aphrodite snapped awake, her eyes blinking quickly in the harsh galre of the sun. 'Huh? Whut? Sorry, sorry, I'm awake.' The tiny female blinked oncemore, but found it hard to keep her sleep-deprived eyes open. She was so tired...who had woken her up? But as she raised her head, she could see no-one. Just a slight rustle of grass, at the edge of the meadow. Oh well - perhaps it was a ferret, or a vole. She didn't really mind, and unlike a lot of wolves she knew, she wouldn't kill them for disturbing her sleep. Her maw stretched as she let out a huge yawn, and now that she was awake, Dee decided to do a little socialising. 'Hello little ladybug. Is it ladybug, or ladybird?...Well, I'm going to call you Mr. Lady. Wait, that can't be right!' Giggling to herself, Dee lifted the tiny red and black bug on her paw, to eye level. She smiled happily as the insect crawled around on her forepaw, making its way up her shoulder. She looked up, high into the sky, as a small blue bird circled. ' Well, hello to you too, beautiful bird! You can be my friend aswell.' She grinned happily, her tail wagging and therefore disturbing the grass. Of course the bird wasn't stupid enough to fly down to the young wolf; for all it knew, her sweet, melodious voice was used for the hunting down of birds like itself. However, Dee just used it to sing and hum. She flicked an ear backwards, then rested her paw on her front paws oncemore.

there is no place like home, when you got no place to go. g l o r i a ;i can ride my bike with no handlebars Gloria giggled quietly, hadn't the wolf noticed her yet? Hmm, apparently not. Smiling, Gloria decided to have some fun. She got down as low as she could, so that the long, lush grass tickled her tummy. She crept forward slowly, grinning, wondering what the wolf's reaction was going to be. She didn't really consider that she might be grumpy, it hadn't even crossed her mind. When she had decided she was close enough, she paused and got as low to the ground as she possibly, wriggling her shoulders a little, digging her claws into the ground. With a single bound, Gloria has leaped out of the long grass, flying through the air straight toward the wolf, who was hopefully now aware of her. "BOO!" she said, landing barely centimeters away from the wolf's maw. She smiled politely, as if she had just walked up to Aphrodite and formally introduced herself. "Hello."
She nodded to the wolf, her eyes glittering in the sun's warm, afternoon rays. She tilted her head to the side slightly, one of her ears bent slightly, making her look quite adorable for a two year old. She studied the female, although not with a cold eye, it was more appraisingly. She half wished she could be as slim as this wolf. She was very pretty, too, not that that kind of thing bothered Gloria. She didn't really care about what she looked like, and was often found covered in mud and dirt. She preferred having fun than caring what other people thought. Still, she wished she was slimmer. It would make it easier to run fast, which was probably the most important thing in the world to Gloria. Hmm.

Aphrodite blinked her wide, azure eyes in suprise, as she stared into the eyes of the new wolf. After a few moments of initial shock, an amazingly pup-like laugh emerged from the year-old female's maw. 'Well, hello there. It's nice to meet you!' a smile like that of a much younger wolf painted itself upon Dee's maw as she greeted the new wolf. It was nice to see another of the same species once in a while; how long had it been now? Too long to count, thought Dee to herself. She missed company; sure, she could get along fine without it, but still, there was nothing like the feel of another's fur, or playing like puppies, or trying to hunt. Her tail wagging happily behind her, she reached her neck out hesitantly, and licked the other wolf's maw. Dee realised how glad she was that the other was not hostile; she wondered what she could have done to protect herself. Friendly wolves; there should be more of them, grinned Aphrodite happily. She half-stood on her hind-legs, her tongue lolling from her mouth, and playfully bowled the other female over, and landed so that she was pinning her new aquaintance over. Her eyes lazily half-closed, Dee grinned. 'I'm Aphrodite.'

growing old is inevitable, but growing up is your choice.g l o r i a ;this is why we're falling apart Gloria grinned, swaying on the spot in a moment of hyperactivity. She'd forgotten how great company was. Ofcourse, she liked being on her own, but just because she wasn't in a pack didn't mean she had to be completely alone, did it? No, not it didn't.
Her tail wagged cheerfully, a bright smile on her maw. 'Oof!' she said, as she was knocked to the ground and pinned down. She laughed happily, smiling up at the fellow arctic wolf. 'I'm Gloria!' Using her hind legs, she tried to kick the wolf off her as lightly as she could. Then she would tackle her back! Muahaha.
Oh, how this reminded her of the good old days. Who said you had to grow up?
